Selling
How do I create a story auction listing?

If you have registered and have sell access, you may choose "sell an item" at the top of the page. Select "Stories" and click "Proceed". You will notice there is no field to create a title. This is because one will be generated for you when you fill out the listing form. Select the type of story from the "story details" pull-down menu. For some types of stories (i.e. out-takes) there will be additional information you must provide. For other story types (i.e. drabbles), the format is less structured. In either case, make sure you are as specific as possible in the text field about prompts and restrictions.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT AN AUCTION CANNOT BE EDITED ONCE A BID IS PLACED.

It is therefore very important that you are as clear as possible when creating the listing. You may upload banners or photos associated with the listing, but please keep in mind that all photos and banners must conform to PG standards. Admins reserve the right to suspend or delete your listing if you post pornographic material. Select the auction type (standard, First Come, First Serve - Any Bids, First Come, First Serve - Fixed Price), your starting bid, your reserve price (the lowest amount you are willing to receive), and a Buy it Now price if that is compatible with your auction type (it will tell you if it isn't). Finally, provide the delivery time-line for your story.

Once you have finished generating your listing, click "Post". You will see a confirmation page, and if there is any error in a field, you will be notified.

If your listing is complete, a title will be created and all of your offerings can be found under your penname in the "Stories" category.

Make sure to create a separate listing for each different type of auction. That is, if you are offering a one-shot, a drabble, and four out-takes, you will need to create AT LEAST three separate listings, and as many as seven. The process should be intuitive once you've started, but please contact admins if you require help.

Will I be notified when someone bids on my listing?
Yes. You will receive an email whenever you receive a bid. You do not need to do anything to receive this email - it will be automatically generated.

Will I be notified who won the auction?
Yes, at the auction close, you will receive an email indicating who has won the auction. We advise you to be in contact with the winning bidder because they will need to send you the receipt from ALSF to show proof of payment. You will also want to discuss the delivery of the auction item, and any other details necessary (i.e. story details, prompts, etc). You can contact the winning bidder through the messaging feature on the auction website.
